The World Council for Corporate Governance and the Centre for Sustainability and Excellence has named Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc. a recipient of the 2007 Golden Peacock Award for Corporate Social Responsibility Reporting.
"The 2006 Coca-Cola Enterprises Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Report, Continuing Our Journey, was selected for excellent report structure, guidelines, content and communication," said Klaus Bohnke, director general of Golden Peacock Award Secretariat. "Coca-Cola Enterprises’ responsible reporting is a leading example of true corporate responsibility."
Atlanta-based Coca-Cola Enterprises (NYSE: CCE), the biggest distributor and marketer of Coke products, said it was selected for the award from among more than 100 companies. Other winners were Union Fenosa of Spain, Vodafone of the U.K. and Telefonica O2 of the U.K.
The World Council for Corporate Governance and the Centre for Sustainability and Excellence bills itself as an independent, not-for-profit international network aimed to galvanize good governance practices worldwide.
